About
Hi, I'm Elle.
Before there was a movement, there was an ache. You know the one: the full life on paper (the job, the city, the people who'd technically call you a friend) and the quiet drive home from the group hang feeling like you attended your own life from a few feet away.
That was me for years after I moved to Austin, Texas. A steady diet of what I call Advanced Weather Conversations: a little better than the weather, but only a little. So I went looking for the room where the conversation finally went somewhere. I showed up to 50+ events and never found it. Eventually I stopped looking for the room and decided to build it.
It started with a tweet. "Austin friends! We're walking this Saturday at 8 AM." Eight people came.
I had no proof it would work. Just a hunch I wasn't the only one quietly starving for a real conversation. So I showed up before the evidence did. Every Saturday for three years. Some mornings the trail was packed; some mornings it was five of us, including me.
Roots grow long before anything shows above the ground.
Those eight people in an Austin parking lot are now 20,000+ across 15+ cities, every one of them slipping a phone into a pocket on a Saturday to talk about the things that actually matter. No ads. No viral moment. Just Saturdays, stacked.
I write the way I walk: slowly, in stories, down the winding path.
You'll find diary entries, half-formed epiphanies, and things people said to me on the trail that I still can't stop thinking about.
I built this because I needed it first. Turns out, a lot of us did.
If you've ever shrunk yourself to fit a smaller room… I see you. There's a spot in the circle for you.
